Shopify Unblocks Amazon's Buy With Prime Integration

Amazon and Shopify have announced a partnership to allow merchants to add Buy with Prime fulfillment and checkout services integrations to their Shopify websites.

Amazon launched Buy With Prime in April 2022 and quickly formed a partnership with BigCommerce. The integration allows shoppers with Prime to purchase on DTC websites using their Amazon account and lets merchants use Amazon fulfillment.

But Shopify had restricted the integration and would warn merchants that trying to add the code snippet to their site was a violation of their service agreement.  Now, the company says the solution will be available soon.

According to Shopify, "Amazon will be releasing an app in Shopify’s app ecosystem that will give US-based merchants who use Amazon’s fulfillment network the option to add Buy with Prime into their Shopify Checkout processed by Shopify Payments."

Shopify is the largest platform for eCommerce-enabled DTC websites, so this partnership will be crucial for Amazon's Buy with Prime Program to succeed.

Shopify President Harley Finkelstein posted a video on the website discussing what this app integration will mean for merchants. No release date was given for when the app will be available in Shopify's app ecosystem.
